Impression Appointment – Brisbane

Impression process
 
Having a mould of your face taken is a relatively simple process.  While you would probably not choose this as a way to spend a free afternoon, it is much better than a visit to the dentist and certainly better than spending a night fighting with an ill-fitting mask!
 
We normally allow 60 minutes for the impression appointment.  This gives us the time to understand the history of your CPAP treatment and the challenges that each individual has faced with mask(s).  It also allows us the time to demonstrate the TrueFIT Custom Mask and to answer any questions.  The actual process of taking the impression takes about 15 minutes.
 
 
Preparing for your appointment / What to bring
 
We will write to you to confirm your appointment and to provide details of what you need to bring.  Here is an overview of requirements:
 
  • Your sleeping face
We want to take an accurate mould of your sleeping face, so it is important that you bring along anything that you normally use when you go to sleep.  This might include dentures, a chin strap, mouthguards, etc.  It is also important that makeup is removed prior to the impression being taken.
 
  • CPAP machine data / reports from sleep study
We are very interested in the performance of your CPAP mask and in your overall therapy.  To help our understanding of your pre-Acurest experience, we would appreciate you bringing along any reports or machine data that you have which details your therapy using your current mask.  We will ask you for similar data after you have had your TrueFIT Custom Mask for a few months for comparison.
 
  • Moustaches
A beard or moustache will not interfere with your TrueFIT Custom Mask at all.  However, we ask that your moustache be trimmed about 5mm away from the bottom of your nose prior to the impression appointment.  This just enables us to take an accurate mould of the base of your nose and ensures that the fit of the mask is perfect.
 
We will only be able to make you a mask if you are referred to us by a health practitioner. This can be a specialist sleep doctor or a general practitioner who is assisting you with your CPAP therapy.  It is not necessary to have the referral completed at the impression appointment, but we will not ship a mask to you until we have a referral form from your doctor.
 
 
Payment
 
The total cost of the TrueFIT Custom Mask is AUD$1,450.  A deposit of $500 is due at the impression appointment, with the $950 balance payable prior to shipping.
 
Credit card and EFTPOS facilities are available at all impression appointments.  Payments may also be made by direct deposit.  Cheques are also accepted, but funds must clear into our bank account prior to shipping (please allow ten days for clearance).
