The TrueFIT™ Custom Mask is the result of a decade-long research and development collaboration between CPAP users and engineers. The result? All the normal problems CPAP users reported with standard masks were identified – then they were solved! Here’s how:
- Custom-made for a perfectly comfortable fit.
We start with a mould of your face, and then hand make each mask so that it fits you perfectly. So, there are no pressure points. The TrueFIT™ Custom Mask fits all faces; no nose is too big or too small.
- No need for tight straps, so no strap marks.
Most conventional masks try to seal a box of pressurised air against the face by squashing the mask into the soft tissues of the face. This is why the straps need to be so tight and why you can end up with pressure sores on the nose, strap marks on the face and even headaches. The TrueFIT™ Custom Mask seals at the base of the nose. It needs just a slight upward pressure to properly seat the seals. You will be amazed by the difference this makes to comfort.
- Leak-free, whisper quiet operation.
With the mask in its normal position, there is no leakage from the seals. And with our unique air diffusers, the sound of air rushing through the mask is almost totally eliminated – you will be able to hear even the quietest machine over the noise of the mask.
- Low profile, streamlined design.
The mask extends just a few millimetres beyond the end of your nose, making it as unobtrusive and stable as possible. You can easily see past it and even read with the mask in place. The hose connects at the top of the mask keeping it conveniently away from you and out of the bed while you sleep.
- Exhaust air diffused, so no airflow in the bed.
Our unique air diffusers split the exhaust air into a spherical pattern. With the mask in operation, airflow from the diffusers is detectable only within a few centimetres of the mask. With the TrueFIT™ Custom Mask, there is no airflow to go down your partner’s back or to bounce off the sheets into your eyes.
- Stability in any sleeping position.
The TrueFIT™ Custom Mask takes advantage of the flexibility of the end of the nose to keep the seals properly in place in all sleeping positions. Standard masks typically have bulky material extending well beyond the nose, which pushes the mask sideways and creates leaks whenever your face touches the pillow. The low profile design of the TrueFIT™Custom Mask makes it stable and effective in all sleeping positions.
- Freedom of movement during sleep.
Perhaps you like to sleep on your side, on your back or even on your stomach, and perhaps you like to change positions while you sleep. Most people do. And yet most standard masks restrict this freedom because they either fall off or leak when you roll over. With the stability of the TrueFIT™ Custom Mask you can once again enjoy freedom of movement and sleep normally through the night.
- Works at all pressures.
The TrueFIT™ Custom Mask has been tested for seal effectiveness at all pressures in the normal range (4 – 20 cm H2O). As therapy pressure increases, so will the strap pressure required to keep the mask in place. But even at the top of the pressure range, strap pressure is still best described as “firm” not “tight”.
- Simple care and maintenance.
Caring for your TrueFIT™Custom Mask is quick, easy and inexpensive. The TrueFIT™ Custom Mask has a convenient one-piece design and does not need to be dismantled for cleaning. Standard care involves a quick wash with soap and cold water each day after use and a weekly rinse with white vinegar. The air diffusers need to be thoroughly cleaned every 2-3 months using a denture tablet. Annual maintenance costs are around $10 per year.
- No parts that wear out and need replacement.
The convenient one-piece design of the TrueFIT™ Custom Mask removes the need for replacement parts, which can cost hundreds of dollars each year.
- Untroubled by beards and moustaches.
